Meet Kateri
I am a clinical social worker and family-policy consultant based in Tallahassee, FL. I am licensed in Wisconsin, Florida, and Georgia.
As a clinician, I serve individuals across the lifespan, with a particular focus on individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, sexual/love addiction, and betrayal trauma. I provide couples therapy and I have completed Level Two training in the Gottman Method. I view therapy through the lens of Thomistic Psychology, which emphasizes virtue ethics and the formation of the human person.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and includes Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My work is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that all individuals possess inherent dignity and worth. I am an Associate Sexual Addiction Therapist (ASAT) Candidate and a member of the Wisconsin Consortium of Catholic Therapists.
My policy work grew out of my experiences navigating post-secondary education as a single parent. Inspired by my own background as a parenting student, I co-founded the Wisconsin Student Parents Organization (WISPO), the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s first organization for parenting students, and conducted the university’s first study on parenting students' experiences on campus. I was a 2024 -2025 STAR Fellow with the Urban Institute, and supported the development of NSTAR, a national platform for parenting-student leadership through the SPARK Collaborative.
I am also engaged in local and national advocacy focused on addressing political polarization. I have witnessed firsthand—both in my own life and in the lives of my clients—the profound impacts polarization can have on personal and communal well-being. I have partnered with organizations including Rehumanize International and Builders to promote ways individuals can inspire change. Most often, beginning with simple, honest conversations.
In my free time, I enjoy reading classical literature, philosophy, and theology, playing with my daughter and two sons, and hosting community dinners with my husband.
If you are interested in any of my services, or would just like to chat, please feel free to email me to schedule a time to meet.
